A couple years ago Vyral experimented with Facebook advertising for clients who had a larger marketing budget. The results were all over the place.
Facebook advertising must be done right to work, but one thing that stays consistent are the top 5 audiences that are the most responsive to offers. These are what we call warm audiences.
When you start a Facebook advertising campaign, you want to start with an offer campaign. Your offer campaign must target your warm audiences.
Warm audiences have had some kind of interaction with you or your business before. Targeting your warm audiences for offers drives your relevance up, keeps your cost low, and generates better quality leads.
Some offer campaign examples include; come to an open house, contact me, almost anything that leads to a landing page to get contact info. However, since the first step in the sales process is trust, you cannot send offers to strangers.
If you want to reach cold audiences, people that don’t know who you are, you should run an awareness campaign.
Awareness campaigns have educational and interesting content that get people to like, share and consume it. The people that are engaging and interacting with your content, will become part of your warm audience and you will be able to retarget them with offer campaigns.
For example, at Vyral, Frank runs two awareness campaigns: The Vyral Marketing Show and Success Stories.
“The Vyral Marketing Show” campaign is optimized for views and to get people to spend time with Frank.
“The Success Stories” campaign is about clients and how they implement the Vyral Marketing Plan to get results.
Vyral’s cold awareness audience is 23,000 people, which is very small and targeted. Frank’s goal is to get people to know him by posting educational videos or client success stories. From the videos, they will visit the website and engage with Vyral, once they do they will start getting offer ads.
Before you start any ad campaigns, follow the Video Marketing Plan, to reach your current database. These people are already interested in you. It’s the plan that all Vyral clients implement to get the best leads from their database the people who already know, like and trust them. The Vyral Marketing Plan teaches you how to be a welcome guest, not a pest.
At some point, you will run out of your existing database and this is when Facebook Advertising comes in.
Here are the 5 audiences Frank gets consistent result advertising offers to
1. Your Email Database
Your email database consists of all the people that already know you and are in your systems; emails, Facebook, and more. You can export those emails, combine them and then upload them to Facebook. Facebook will match up the emails with the users and your ads will go to them.
2. Website Visitors
You can remarket to the people that have visited your website. There are codes you can put on your website, and when your audience visits your website it gets installed on their computers and your ads will start showing up on the other websites they visit. This is one of the best audiences to run ads too because they are extremely engaged in your content already.
3. Video Viewers
Everything online is tracked including people that view your video and how long they viewed them for. You can track who has watched more than 10 seconds of your video and as soon as they watch 10 seconds or more they will start to get offer ads to lead them back to you.
4. People Who Engage in Your Facebook Page
This audience is the group you have been targeting with your awareness campaigns and when someone engages with it, it is tracked, and you then run offer ads to them.
5. Facebook Fans
You may have a 100 or 1,000 people already following you or your business Facebook account. When you post something, Facebook won’t show it any more than a normal post. Instead, you can run ads directly to your Facebook Fans who you know are interested in what you do.
These are the top 5 audiences that Frank sees consistent results from. These are the people that know, like and trust you, and more likely to take your offer.
