How Greg Harrelson Found Me Annoying (in a good way)

By Ali Aslanbaigi in Coaches Corner on Mar 31, 2026

Ali and Greg

Alright, Vyral patrons, today we’re talking about one of my first big clients: Greg Harrelson. I inherited him, and I didn’t fully realize the magnitude of who he was at first. Before I came on board, he wasn’t really engaging with the program and wasn’t exactly thriving under those circumstances.

His biggest obstacle was...

When I took over, getting him back on track became a top priority, but it wasn’t easy. His previous relationship with the program had soured. He wasn’t happy, and at that point, someone had to step in to save the relationship.

*cue the superhero music*

That someone was me.

My solution to the obstacle was...

Now, this wouldn’t be much of a story if he answered any of my calls or responded to my emails right away, would it?

Of course not.

So there I was at the base of Mt. Harrelson and all I got with me were dynamite and a pickaxe (the metaphorical ones). Greg became my biggest prospect, and establishing a solid connection with him was a huge challenge. He’s spread thin, always busy with his empire.

But I kept pushing. I stayed consistent, reaching out daily, leaving messages, and sending emails, hoping he’d eventually respond. And then, out of nowhere, he reached out to me for help making invites for his webinar. That’s how the relationship started.

The Outcome for My Client Was…

From there, we slowly built a good rapport. We do a lot of custom content together, and we meet regularly, sometimes twice a month, if I’m lucky. Our conversations have ranged from professional to, well, a bit more casual. There’s even been a joke about video content and the unexpected stuff we talk about, but that’s all part of the charm.

One of the biggest wins was tightening up the system for him. We refined his content distribution so it’s more targeted. Now, his lead generation efforts are sent only to agents in his area, as opposed to the random inquiries he used to get from all over the country. This was something he’d been frustrated with, and it was a major reason he considered leaving Vyral. He’s really thankful for that improvement.

Greg’s an interesting guy:: he could record a video on a potato and still get views. But despite all of the huge strides we’ve made, things still get rocky sometimes. The relationship goes through ups and downs a few times a year, and that’s just part of his busy lifestyle. We still talk via text and email, and he’s actively approving content.

What Greg says about working with me...

Working with Greg has had its ups and downs, but he’s appreciated the effort. I’ve created a whole “Harrelson Compendium” for him: basically a Google Doc with tailored content he can pick from based on his needs. The relationship has grown to the point where he humorously tells me I’m annoying… but in a good way. And honestly, that’s the outcome I was hoping for.

What to Do Next…

So, what’s the takeaway here? If you want to work with clients like Greg, pick up the damn phone, be persistent, and keep at it. Sometimes that’s all it takes.
