How We Built a System Around Lou Gordon's Idea

Lou Gordon had the idea, the humor, and the kitten. Our team built the structure that turns a good idea into a series that keeps going.

Most video series die because nobody built the system, not because the idea was bad. Lou Gordon, a Cambridge agent, came to us with a good one: a series he wanted to call "Lemme 'Splain You Somethin'." Our team built the structure around it, from the opening to the repeatable format to working his kitten into the videos. What we handled was the part that makes a second episode possible, and a fifth, and a fifteenth.

The personality is entirely his. We did not give Lou his humor or his delivery, and no format could have. What a structure does is remove the question that kills most series, which is what exactly am I making this week. With the opening settled, the format settled, and a running character the audience looks for, the only thing left to bring is the thing Lou already has in abundance.

His database has been talking back. The videos are sparking real conversations, particularly when they go out as postcards, which puts them in front of people in a way a feed never will. That is the outcome worth caring about here. A series that is made consistently and reaches people who already know him does more work than a single polished video ever could.

The personality was always Lou's. What we built is the system that ensures it gets made.
